The recent appointment of Michael Harris to the 2020 Order of Ontario has brought back many painful memories for Indigenous peoples. How can the Premier of Ontario award politicians who have been linked to the murder of Indigenous Activists defending sacred burial grounds?

In the summer of 2020, we launched the BreatheEasy Project, with the goal of measuring Air Quality levels across Ottawa's wards and sharing our findings. What we found was concerning. 

Air pollution is a public health issue that needs to be addressed.

The Government of Ontario was requesting input on the enhanced Minister’s Zoning Order powers that were enabled with Bill 197. Not only do these powers take away the decision-making from local municipalities and planning departments, but they give too much power to the Minister and lack transparency.

Are you interested in volunteering with Sierra Club Ontario? We are looking for volunteers across Ontario to assist with campaigns such as the Ring of Fire, BreatheEasy, the Great Lakes and more!

We will be hosting a virtual Volunteer Fair on Tuesday March 9, 2021 from 7-8pm (EST).
