Halifax Goes Wild Photo Contest Terms and Conditions

Definitions“Contest album” refers to the album hosted on Facebook which features all accepted submitted images by contest participants“Contest promoter” refers to Halifax Diverse, a program of the Sierra Club Canada Foundation Atlantic ChapterOffices at 1649 Barrington St, 2nd floor (The Hub), Halifax, B3J 1Z9“Contest sponsor” refers to Atlantic Photo Supply Foto sourceOffices at 202 Brownlow Dr., Dartmouth, B3B 1T5“Participant” refers to an individual who submits a photo to the contest “Submitted image” refers to images which are uploaded to the contest promoter for judging by the staff of the contest sponsorAcceptance of photos into the contest is subject to these terms and conditionsEligibilityThere is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this contestContest is not open to individuals who are employees of the Sierra Club Canada Foundation, Atlantic Photo Supply Foto source, or the immediate family of these individualsProfessional and semi-professional photographers (or any photographers who earn money selling their photographs) are not eligible to enterA maximum of one image may be submitted per participantPhotos must have been taken within the Halifax Regional Municipality and include green spaces such as parks, wilderness areas, wildlife, vistas, backyards, etc.Entries may be colour or black & white digital photographs.Photos must contain no nudity, not depict any illicit activities, and not violate Facebook’s Community Standards (found at: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards)Photos may be refined digitally, but may not be significantly altered, including, but not limited to: the introduction of new elements digitally, significant alteration of colour palates (except from colour to black & white), and more, at the contest judges’ discretion.Submitting an entryIn order to be eligible to win, participants must:Submit the image to the contest promoter by messaging the Halifax Diverse fan page, emailing the Halifax Diverse email address, or sending a tweet with #HalifaxGoesWild, and attach:The submitted imageThe title of the photo, and when/where it was takenThe name of the participantThe participant’s best contact phone number (used for winner notification except in Twitter)PrizesPrizes are all provided by Atlantic Photo Supply Foto source and include:1st prize: 24×36” canvas print (worth ~$180 retail)2nd prize: 16×24 canvas print (worth ~$140 retail)3rd prize: 11×14 canvas print (worth ~$80 retail)Winners will be chosen by the expert staff at Atlantic Photo Supply Foto source and the judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered intoWinners will be announced publically and notified by phone or email, at which time the details for claiming their prize will be explainedWinners must submit a high resolution copy of the winning image for reproduction purposesThe image to be printed by the contest sponsor for the contest winners can be the entered photo, or another image of the participant’s choiceNo cash alternative will be offered for any prize LegalBy entering the photo contest, the participant understands and agrees that:The participant has the consent of any human subjects appearing in images, including that of legal guardians in the case of minors (less than 18 years of age)The participant retains sole ownership of the submitted images and grants the contest promoter and sponsor rights to duplicate and distribute the submitted images for the sake of promotion, but not for saleThis contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook or any other social networkContest participants’ information will at no time be disclosed to any third party by either the contest promoter or sponsorThey have read and agree to abide by these terms and conditions
